[/usr/local/bin/odamex]

Hey, I just make binary rpm package for all (i hope) rpm based distributions where can be resolved dependencies from repository. Package was successfully tested and installed on Fedora 8 and 9, Mandriva 2008 and 2009 and openSUSE 11.0.

Package contains and install:
/usr/local/bin/odamex //client
/usr/local/bin/odasrv //server
/usr/local/bin/odalaunch //launcher
/usr/local/share/doom/odamex.wad //odamex.wad
**/usr/local/share/doom/freedoom.wad** //freedoom.wad
/usr/share/applications/odalaunch.desktop //menu entry for launcher
/usr/share/applications/odamex.desktop //menu entry for odamex client
/usr/share/icons/icon_odamex_96.png //icon for odamex in menu
/usr/share/icons/icon_odalaunch_96.png //icon for odamex launcher in menu

RPM make entry in menu in section Games or Games/Action or Games/Others if Action subsection does not exist. I make two versions, with and without freedoom.wad. Because I don't know, if is there problem with distribution of freedoom.wad with odamex.

With freedoom.wad is solved problem with Cannot find IWAD (try -waddir). User does not see this message, when try run odamex from GNOME/KDE menu, just nothing happens and thats little confusing, but as I said, I don't know, if freedoom.wad can be distributed with Odamex in one package, so thats reason for second package without freedoom.wad

This is fantastic stuff.  Once I check it out and things look good I think it'll be worth adding to the sourceforge.net downloads.  What can we do about getting this into someplace where yum can find it?

Well, depends on the distribution, just become a package maintainer. For Fedora http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/PackageMaintainers/Join or there is rpmfusion project (again fedora, red hat and CenOS) FAQ.
