Title: Win9x support...sure...
Post by: Danfun64 on September 06, 2014, 13:46:01
I have an old laptop with windows 98se(sp3-2me with kernelex) on it. I decided to go old school and try to run odamex with it. It gives an error about msvcp100.dll, and thats with kernelex enabled. Without kernelex, it gives an error about kernel32.dll. I tried a hacked version of msvcp100.dll designed to work with win9x, but then I get an error about sdl video not initializing. Is the faq saying that odamex supports win9x a lie, or at the very least, out of date?

The "raw input" mouse code does indeed require Windows 2000 or above. Although I made attempts to detect if the user had an older version of Windows and disable the feature, ultimately I do not have a Windows 98 system to do testing. I can look at the detection code in the future. Ultimately though, I think our documentation needs an update.

How do I turn the raw mouse feature off then?
