My apologies, I have not checked the forum for a long time. But since development of Odamex is active again, here I am :-) 0.7.0 version is actually available as a repository here https://copr.fedorainfracloud.org/coprs/vain/odamex/ for all Fedora major releases (but RPM package itself should work almost on every RPM based Linux distro).

However during today (don't tell my boss :-)) I have prepared a new (more clean and complex spec file) build for Odamex version 0.8 with support of others RPM based Linux distributions supported by a copr project (Mageia, openSUSE, CentOS).

What can we do about getting this into someplace where yum can find it?

Well, depends on the distribution, just become a package maintainer. For Fedora http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/PackageMaintainers/Join or there is rpmfusion project (again fedora, red hat and CenOS) FAQ.

2) its alpha version and most people that want to play it are waiting for a much more... "refined" version
Most important reason.

Yeah, but if you have source code, you can compile ide via wine-devel for linux. Like Miranda (http://nibbler.net.tvtrinec.cz/miranda-linux.png) and others open-source windows aplications.

Internet Doom Explorer - non-portable win32 closed-source (yet)
Yet means what? Is possible multiplatform support in the future? Or just and only open-source?
