General Discussion / Re: "Advanced Rendering"

« on: January 22, 2007, 15:06:41 »
heh, I think that 'distortion' is fine, it's natural when you're playing a game not natively formatted for 4:3 aspect ratio resolutions. (320x200, 640x400, 1280x800 and 2560x1600 are proper dooming resolutions)

What? Doom's rendering chokes today's CPUs? Don't be rediculous.

oooh interesting.  You mean the way maps are distributed in games like CS:S and Garry's Mod?

You mean Quakeworld? That started the whole auto-downloading trend, anyway

A cool way is to have the server substitute direct http protocol links to files not hosted by the server instead of serving itself.

Of course, this would wind up into doom2.wad piracy by rebellious servers.

It'll work in the 64bit version.

Alot of old 32-bit games worked in XP x64 edition fine so I can't see why not unless they are really ripping out DirectX 1-7 compatibility in vista.
