Nitro Zone / Nitro #53 - 32in24-12 CTF FINAL RELEASE

Join us as we celebrate the final release of 32in24-12! Once again it has been a lot of fun coordinating this with the 32in24 guys, the session last week was split up between 2 full servers and it was really great. I'm hoping everyone who played got a chance to give some feedback, and hopefully those of you who mapped were able to muddle through the bad complaints to make your maps better.

I saw some really promising maps that I can see making their way into the IDL wad or just becoming popular in general. Pretty awesome work guys! Some screenshots: #1, #2, #3, #4.

Nitro Zone / Nitro #52 - 32in24-12 CTF BETA TESTING

The moment you have all been waiting for is finally here!! The 52nd Odamex Nitro Session. It has been an exciting first year and what better way to celebrate this occasion than having a BRAND NEW 32in24?? Yes, I've been attempting to hype this for the past month so hopefully you are all just as excited as I am to play.

We'll be doing this similar to the way we did 32in24-11. This Saturday we'll be testing all the maps that were made, giving our opinions and criticism and tips and such. THEN, everyone will get a chance to use what they learned to go back and make the necessary adjustments. The following Saturday we will play the final released version of 32in24-12. So get ready!

There will be a playerlimit for these sessions, since this is CTF. There will be 2 servers (and perhaps a 3rd if demand is high enough) running in order to accommodate everyone that wants to play.

Nitro Zone / Nitro #51 - Velocity CTF

I feel like this is the only wad I write about! The short version is that this is the best CTF wad that has come out in the past few years, and it's a lot of fun even in a public server. The long version can be found here.

Additionally, I have tried to hype up the one year anniversary as much as possible without revealing anything but I think I should give you something now. You will know what it is within the week, and it will be a two week celebration. I will leave the rest to your imaginations!

Hex and Soul were salivating at the thought of running this, so I'm happy to give them what they want for once. If you are claustrophobic or you haven't enjoyed some of our craziest sessions, you might want to sit out on the sidelines for this one. Oh yeah, and I hope you like railguns!

ALSO: In just two weeks, Nitro will be celebrating it's one year anniversary. We are planning something very special so make sure you leave some room on the 18th to show up and join in on the fun.

Nitro Zone / Nitro #48 - Just Doom It! FFA

I feel like this wad was just released yesterday, but in March it reached it's 7th anniversary. It is funny how time flies, but less funny how time treats certain wads. This one was pretty popular up until a few years ago, but like many other wads it seems to have fallen out of the public eye. Not to worry though because I will not rest until this makes its triumphant return, if only for a night!

Speaking of anniversaries, in a month we will be celebrating the one year anniversary of the first official Nitro session! I can't say anything more than we've got something special planned, and to mark your calendars because August 18th is sure to be one exciting night.

Well I thought Hex was going to post something, but he didn't and here we are! I hope you all enjoyed celebrating your freedom this past week because it's going to end tomorrow. This wad is newer than I thought it was and it's a throwback to the style of maps that were being made more than a decade ago. In spirit of that it would only make sense to cap the playerlimit at 4, but who am I kidding? We don't do things that make sense around here........

Here is a fun wad that you don't see played very often. Although some of the maps may be more well known recently for being included in several IDL wads, there is actually more to play in this wad than you may think! Ranging from small and cramped to maps that could fit 16 players, you'll be sure to find a map that best fits your style.

It's about time for another set of Dwango maps! I think next to Dwango5, this is my favorite one. Yes, even better than the amazing font from Dwango11. I think the wound from that has had enough time to heal, so let's do it!

Nitro Zone / Nitro #42 - Grotesque CTF

It's a double dose of CTF! Yes, we'll be playing CTF for the second week in a row and it will again be on a very underplayed and under-appreciated wad, Grotesque CTF. There are two words I can use to describe these maps: dark and big. Of course they are not ALL dark and they are not ALL big, but you get the idea.

I've always been impressed with the work done on this wad and I think it's sad that it gets played sparingly. Time to give it some well deserved attention!

Some of you may remember this wad that we ran alllllll the way back in September for Nitro #6. Nitro was just a baby then and I wasn't sure whether anyone was going to like this or not, but I was very happy with the positive feedback. I've been thinking about running this again, but you can thank SoulSucka for the inspiration to do so.

In case you are unfamiliar with this wad, maps like e1m1, e1m8, ssl2 and more were converted very tastefully into CTF maps. If it's anything like last time it will be a lot of fun!

Here is a wad I've always been very fond of. Although it may be most well known for Map04 becoming a dueling favorite among many of the doom community's top players, there are 25 other maps that deserve just as much attention. This week, you'll have a shot at playing all of them! Chaindude was joined by such mappers as Midian and Hobomaster (and many more!) in creating a wad that will take you up, down, and will probably even spin you around.

I know the text file likes to warn us about having a player limit of above 6, but that would be incredibly boring. We'll start with 12 and see where it takes us.

it's the compilation wad of compilation wads! What I really like about this is how the maps from each of the different wads flow together. Some compilation wads are just thrown together and don't make a lot of sense, but this feels like it could actually have been released as a single project.
