FLOATBOB, FLOORBOUNCE, and other Zdoom additions to the bex type format.
I'm not sure if this counts as a bug report, or a feature request, as I believe some of these features were present in ZDOOM 1.22/23.
Primarily, what I would like to see is support for FLOATBOB which allows it so that the enemies, such as the Cacodemon, will constantly bob up and down.
I am creating a Tribute to the Amiga's Alien Breed and Alien Breed 3D series, and require that feature in order to make one of the enemies behave correctly.
The other feature that I am lacking is FLOORBOUNCE, or BOOM's BOUNCE.
With this bit I would be able to turn a rocket into a grenade that bounces off the floors and walls for a while before exploding.
There was a grenade launcher in Alien Breed 3D which I would really like to be able to re-create.
Actually, I believe that with these two features, coupled with TERRAIN support, that I should pretty much have everything I need to realize all my original intentions for this project.
Though as you can see, these features may not be features that everyone else in in dire need of, nor will they totally hold back my project from completion.
On the other hand, considering that we lack DECORATE support and need to depend upon DEH and BEX, I'd say that for a DOOM engine built for the intent of quality on-line play, the more BEX options we have the better for which case I'd love to see Marine's Best Friend support added in as it would provide us with a companion or protective drone that the player's could use in game, or it could easily be converted over to work as an additional enemy to include to the present roster.
There are of course all the other bits that BOOM, MBF, and ZDOOM added which can further take the weapon and enemy behaviors above and beyond where Vanilla DOOM left then. It may not be a substitute for DECORATE, but all in all, Bex where early ZDOOM left it was actually pretty useful. In fact there are already a handful of WADs out there that provide interest Weapons Replacements that work just fine with Odamex. It's a wonder not more people are using them.
Thank you again!
