Chaindude's Odamex announcer
« on: July 05, 2012, 20:09:23 »
Also known as ovox1a.wad, this is the announcer that's been used a lot since Odamex 0.5.6. I took the liberty to convert it to the new announcer standards implemented in 0.6.1, in case any server hosts feel like using it still. :)

PS: Just make sure to set Game SFX to OFF in the sound options, so the announcer plays as intended.

o_O you're kidding, right? how can you play well w/o sound? What happens if you don't switch off sound, BTW?

Game SFX are just the sound effects that are played along with the announcer when any CTF events happen (flag taken/dropped/returned, team scores), I believe. It doesn't refer to all of the in-game sounds. :P

This announcer already has sound effects by its own, so leaving Game SFX on would be kind of silly.

Soul: you can make it easier by replacing the ctf sfx with a short silent sound file, which would effectively silence the odamex.wad ctf sfx.
