Developer's Corner / GhostlyDeath hacks!

« on: February 13, 2008, 13:32:58 »
I am releasing my Server Spectator Hack for odamex! check it out! (it's a patch btw, hopefully I did it and modifed the patch file correctly.)

The way this is done that it allows people who don't have the hacked client to play on hacked servers (it will be a bit odd though but who cares).

So now you can have those dueling servers you have been waiting for!

or you can get it via the attachment (if it stays heh)

where the title is:
"ODAMEX - Setting the Standard in Multiplayer Doom(tm)"

How can this be?

I would like to have multiple keys bound to keys...

Aliases are broke (not implemented) and I can not stand using a different key for Use and back and strafe + use on the mouse (double bound), I like to have my DOOM2.EXE  controls set up at all times in every port even Non doom FPS games!

Technical Support / MS-DOS!!

Would odamex be usable in Dos!? If it does then that would be cool so if Windows ever fails and I am forced to use dos I can still play!

Plus, those Soundblaster instruments sound awesome!

You will only be a competitor to ZDaemon if you are competing with them and you aim to have the same stuff but better and you have to say you are a competitor too. But some people on both sides will say "Port X is better than Port Y.", etc.

If you could care less about competition and just want people to play your port (like my port) then you are considered Neutral.

When there is competition, it's all fun and games until hardware gets damaged!

I beat all the IWADs (Ultimate Doom, Doom II, TNT and Plutonia) in Ultra-Violence (which in Doom2's Competition terms (can be Wikipedied) makes me a  "Doom Master"). Doom was fun, Doom 2 was long, TNT was interesting and It took me 2 hours to beat Plutonia level 8 starting with below 100% health.

My favorite IWADs would be Final Doom...
Plutonia has Cyberden and Go 2 it, which are kind of easy (except when playing tyson 100% kills and secrets!) and TNT has a ton of good maps and good music too.

Maps, Wads and Mods / Re: Classic CTF

« on: December 07, 2006, 19:13:16 »
I ported all the ZDaemon CTF maps to Skulltag but never released it, it was all the same maps but with Team Starts and The Standard CTF stuff.

I think ZDaemon used CTFDoom as kind of a base... Can you play CTFDoom maps in ZDaemon nativly?

Technical Support / Re: Windows Vista

« on: November 13, 2006, 20:55:18 »
There will be two versions of Vista (like XP), but-wise though...

XP 64 and Vista 64 (heh N64) will suport 64 bit nativly and emulate 32-bit programs...
XP 32 and Vista 32 will support 32 bit nativly and emulate 16-bit programs...

That's what MS said anyways...

I think DOS Support will be ripped in Vista... so DOOM2.EXE won't work. Any 16-bit program won't run on the 64-bit windows...

They both use WOWEXEC64 (ems. 32-bit) and WOWEXEC32 (ems. 16-bit)... Whoever gets Vista 64 should try WOWEXEC64 WOWEXEC32 a 16-bit program!!
