Technical Support / Re: MS-DOS!!

« on: May 10, 2012, 21:18:36 »
Isn't FreeDOS still in development? The only thing they really need to make it usable to a lot of people again is a unified sound system. Otherwise you are stuck using semi-old PC with support for the old ISA, or PCI, sound cards.

I once had a few moderns apps running in it thanks to the HX extender. You might give it a try. http://www.japheth.de/HX.html

Why did I bother? I was originally setting up a DOS machine to play some Doom.

General Discussion / Re: Odamex co-op game over lan?

Sure, just launch the server how you want and have everyone connect to it. If its all on the same IP, you can use "connect localhost"

Cool, and thanks.

General Discussion / Odamex co-op game over lan?

« on: May 01, 2012, 21:27:38 »
Hi again.

I'm not sure if it'd be entirely possible, but assuming one device was running a Odamex server, could I setup a four player co-op game on lan?

I was actually thinking for 2 PCs, and 2 Xboxs, as long as the server PC could join in as well.

Is a local, non-deathmatch, setup like this possible with Odamex? If so, how would I get started?

General Discussion / Re: Debian package article help?

Are you looking to just compile Odamex or are you looking to build a .deb package?

I'd prefer my package managers to handle programs if possible. I could quite possibly forget what programs are manually installed, so I'd prefer those files not cluttering up my OS.

BTW - Is the cmake option not available for the last stable 0.5.6?

Hello.

Could anyone tell me if the info on this page here is still relevant?

http://odamex.net/wiki/Debian_package

I've gotten to the part where I'm supposed to download the skeleton package, but I'm getting a no file exists message.
