Could we please get an update for the 0.8.1 release :D ?

Since 0.8.1 had been released, could we close this thread ?

I'll make a separate thread for the Switch binaries.

Switch users : we are providing nightly builds in the Discord server.

In addition to the whole lot of features above:

Build 19/06/2019 :
Code: [Select]
* Added a "fast turn" bind for joysticks, similar to nxQuake2, making you react much better to oppoents or very close enemies by temporarily changing the sensitivity at the press of a button.
* You can now only freelook as a spectator in you enable the said option in the menu.

Several bugs only exist to the Switch port (such as the "partial invisibility" being rendered in red), while a few others are common to the whole port (buttons being recognized as random letters in the console for instance). Please report it in the bug report, as it helps us a lot.

Download the port.
Very nice stuff, for sure !

However, something makes me wonder : how could one create a server with your ELO stats ? Does it need another server binary ?

Bonjour tout le monde, Ch0wW here. Well, I'm going to make a quick post about this week's Nitro sessions. And this week is dedicated to some of the most classic PWADs ever : Greenwar for europeans, and 32in24-16 for americans.

At the same time, we're stepping up our social media game : we're making some animated posts and events you might enjoy, at least on Twitter. You should follow us, you know. ;)

Anyway, enough talk, let's do some business!

This should be seriously used for Odamex 0.8.1 and onwards.

It's super easy, really fast, and open-source aswell.

Also, queries, and custom servers/masterservers ♥

I'm seriously glad to see Dwango5 as TDM ! It'll change from the regular DM sessions.

The Brit Series.

Brainless, fun, extremely fast and violent.

Also, the UDM mappacks. A must go for DM.

Developer's Corner / Re: Odamex's PWAD Compatibility list

DOOM64 For DOOM 2 (D64D2.WAD)
Code: [Select]
• Can run this PWAD without a crash on startup
• LANGUAGE lump is entirely unsupported (resulting in blank lines everywhere)
• MAP19B is unfinishable ONLINE, as it seem to rely on Voodoo dolls at the very end. Unsure about the other maps.
• Unknown about vanilla demos, but it should have no problem playbacking them

FREEDOOM : Phase 1/2 (v 0.11.3)
Code: [Select]
• Can run this IWAD without a crash on startup
• Looks like the entire IWAD can be played
• Unknown about vanilla demos, but it should have no problem playbacking them
• In multiplayer, "you need a XXX key" are messed up. However, no problem in singleplayer. - EDIT : This bug is now fixed in the nightlies

Code: [Select]
• Can run this PWAD without a crash on startup
• Does have lots of MAPINFO errors in the console
• Can't be played both on solo and coop, as MAP01 can't be completed.
• Unknown about vanilla demos
• Looks like this PWAD is relying a lot about the Voodoo dolls. And one voodoo doll is behind MAP01's exit.

General Discussion / Re: Is anyone interested in a Wii port?

« on: January 23, 2019, 06:18:42 »
Yup, this could be a nice idea. Or to even reach out to the DevKitPro forum, could maybe give us a hand.

EDIT : I managed to fix the build with the latest Devkitpro, and has been done as a pull request + guide.

For those being still interested in making this port a reality, there is one HUGE thing that should be done.

The most important element to fix is related to this Bug Report #1241 :

Using the latest DevKitPro installer, I noticed that you cannot be able to compile it, as it is stuck saying that "gctypes.h" is nowhere to be found, despite being able to see it in this following folder :
Code: [Select]
<DEVKITPRO DIRECTORY>\libogc\include
This is happening to me on Windows 10 and on WSL with Debian 9.0. Other OSes should act the same way. I checked the Makefile several times, and I'm definitely clueless.

Anyway, it is said that recent DevKitPPC builds have broken several other Wii homebrews, so I have seriously no idea how to fix this mess.

That said, there are still a few issues to fix with this port, and, if we have something too, be able to compile it to WiiU (for better options).

General Discussion / Patching Your Copy of DOOM and DOOM 2

« on: January 22, 2019, 11:39:48 »
Note: If you have the original Steam releases of the Doom games (not the bfg edition) you are up-to-date and do not need to bother reading this.

As you may or may not be aware, several versions of Doom were released between 1993 and 1995 due to bugs being found, and features being added. You can find all of the history for the releases here. The latest version of all of the iwads are final version "1.9"

I made a release of my own IWADVerifier, written in pure Golang, and it is hosted on GitHUB. So you can use it for Windows, Linux and MacOSX without trouble. And it supports several new IWADs, even Freedoom !

The reason I did this is because Russell's version of IWADVerifier is nowhere to be found (unless you go to Besides, we have gotten new IWADs, so we had to update the list.

IWADPatcher 1.2
Phenex2 also made a better patcher for Doom/Doom2, in order to support Doom XBLA/BFG Edition. His commandline tool is extremely good, and supports other games than DooM.

That's all for now.
