Technical Support / Win9x support...sure...

« on: September 06, 2014, 13:46:01 »
I have an old laptop with windows 98se(sp3-2me with kernelex) on it. I decided to go old school and try to run odamex with it. It gives an error about msvcp100.dll, and thats with kernelex enabled. Without kernelex, it gives an error about kernel32.dll. I tried a hacked version of msvcp100.dll designed to work with win9x, but then I get an error about sdl video not initializing. Is the faq saying that odamex supports win9x a lie, or at the very least, out of date?

General Discussion / Re: Net Demo compatibility.

How long until you think that the net demo feature will be finalized to the point where you can play old net demos in new releases? When odamex reaches 1.0?

I have a question. Can newer releases of odamex run net demos from older versions? For example, running an 0.6.4 netdemo in 0.7, or an 0.7 demo in trunk?

Developer's Corner / Wii compiling

« on: November 29, 2013, 19:33:21 »
Hello. I have the odamex source code, but I don't know how to compile it for the Wii. I would appreciate step by step instructions on what to download and install and how to build otherwise.

My current configuration is Debian Wheezy (7.2) 64-bit.

There aren't any clear instructions for compiling on Wii, unlike the instructions for compiling on linux or windows or mac...

Technical Support / No music on LMDE mate 64-bit custom build

« on: September 10, 2013, 21:18:47 »
Seeing that there are no current builds for Debian based linux distros, i made one for myself. It works perfectly, except for the music. The sound itself works fine, just the music is having trouble. I have timidity installed using FluidR3. If I try to switch from sdl_mixer to portmidi too many times it crashes. Not that it matters, as neither option works. What should I do to fix this?

Technical Support / Re: Freedoom crashes at MAP30.

which is expected to be...?

I don't like using nightly builds of multiplayer games because of obvious incompatibility.

Also, how long has this problem existed?

Technical Support / Freedoom crashes at MAP30.

« on: April 05, 2013, 11:49:02 »
After I get the first key and enter the room with the rocket ammo, the game crashes. I don't know why this occurs. Is this a known bug? What should I do?

Technical Support / trouble with chex

« on: October 09, 2010, 10:14:22 »
Hello. I'm trying to use a chex quest pwad with the ultimate doom iwad. (yes, I don't like dooms evilness and gore :P ) In episode 1, when I beat a level, I get the score screen and then go to the next level. In the other episodes, when I try to exit the level, I get the score screen, but instead of proceeding to the next level, odamex crashes. The reason I want to use odamex is because of the xbox and wii ports. Here is the file itself:http://www.filefront.com/17368239/chexmod.wad

Thanks in advance.
