A neat feature but would have to be made an option due to standard doom's defualt settings. It may not be very old school but wouldn't doom's mapping layout look fuckin' terrible crushed in a little 3x3 inch box, even with tracking support for players or items to keep it useful would be in vain because we all know the damn maps already. Doom has never been played with radar and the gameplay would change very little were this to be implemented.

I would participate... If I happen to be around. On the weekend *especially evenings* it is unlikely that I would be around...

GetWad is a utility to find and installize wads on the fly. The utility is part of the zd package so download it and you can use the utility to find any wad you want so long as the author or server host has provided a link where it is hosted.

Welcome back to DOOM ;). As far as I know you already can compile the launcher in OS X. Perhaps this link can help, read up while you're on the wiki. After all, you might learn something :).

I assume it'll either be like zd tourney's, specifyed admins to hunt people down who don't finish their games on time. Or perhaps tourney's will be run IDL style which I find to be a very good idea. Tourney's organized by admins and clans being run on a seasonal basis like many sports just to put special emphasis on times when they are held.

I've been interested to see how odamex will preform without the problem of constantly outta sync packet traffic due to unrefined netcode. Good work fellas :)

General Discussion / Re: why is noone playing?

« on: March 03, 2007, 02:50:59 »
hmmm, perhaps for many reasons that should be instantly obvious...

1) it's new, not many people know about it.
2) its alpha version and most people that want to play it are waiting for a much more... "refined" version
3) There aren't very many servers

and of course other reasons related to doom that apply to all ports...

It dosen't need to be open source. It was created by bond simply to connect you to master server ports all at once with global variables to make the act of actually playing doom ALOT easier.

Developer's Corner / Re: Strife Multiplayer?

« on: February 26, 2007, 09:21:47 »
It should work in ZDoom. I've played Strife DM with Danni (ZDaemon developer) with a 2.0.63a beta of ZDaemon and there were no problems whatsoever.

yea this is about as good as it gets with strife, blood, and hexen. But if you'd wanna work on support for it then by all means be our guest ;).
