Devoblog / Re: Odamex 0.8.0 Released!

« on: January 26, 2019, 00:18:46 »
Congrats on the release! It's been a long time coming. Only way to go is up from here.

I really appreciate how "lighter" the game feels now, how easy it is to alt+tab out and back in, and the improved performance on the 32-bit video mode. Sick!

General Discussion / Re: How Did You Find Odamex?

Maybe after Doom 4 comes out, there should be another large wave of newcomers.

I only really knew about it from reading some Doom Wiki pages and stuff. I gathered some interest in it after this Altdeath thread was posted, and I wasn't really disappointed.

I ultimately started playing it seriously after 0.5.6 came out, since it had a working unlagged. c:

Devoblog / Re: 32in24-12 Announced!

The previous 32in24 CTF WADs had amazing maps (some of them even being IDL favorites now), so I'm really looking forward to it.

GaX had most points in our week 2 game, and he was running and barely fragging at all. I don't think it's unbalanced.

Maps, Wads and Mods / Re: Chaindude's Odamex announcer

« on: July 06, 2012, 10:38:03 »
Game SFX are just the sound effects that are played along with the announcer when any CTF events happen (flag taken/dropped/returned, team scores), I believe. It doesn't refer to all of the in-game sounds. :P

This announcer already has sound effects by its own, so leaving Game SFX on would be kind of silly.

Maps, Wads and Mods / Chaindude's Odamex announcer

« on: July 05, 2012, 20:09:23 »
Also known as ovox1a.wad, this is the announcer that's been used a lot since Odamex 0.5.6. I took the liberty to convert it to the new announcer standards implemented in 0.6.1, in case any server hosts feel like using it still. :)

PS: Just make sure to set Game SFX to OFF in the sound options, so the announcer plays as intended.

Personally, I am amazed at how fast Odamex's been progressing. No matter what certain people say about it, Oda has pretty much beaten ZDaemon and Skulltag in terms of potential for competition. I thank you, fellow devs, for making this possible!

And, to answer your question, this video should tell you how to do callvotes on Odamex. Or you could just watch it from the beginning to see how the whole thing works. :)
